The FTX Banzai is a cracking value RTR 1/10 car for your on road sideways kick. But what if you wanted to take your Banzai to the next level? The first items people usually go for a change of the body or wheels, which I have done myself. However what about if you was looking at upgrading the chassis and other areas on the car to carbon or aluminium? Well your in luck, as FTX do a number of carbon and aluminium upgrades for it.
I have fitted the parts listed below:
Carbon Fibre
- Chassis - FTX6488
- Front Shock Tower - FTX6489
- Rear Shock Tower - FTX6490
- Upper Plate - FTX6491
- Front Bumper Cover - FTX6497
- Battery Cover - FTX6354 (This isn’t listed for the Banzai, its listed for the FTX Carnage/Vantage but it does fit and helps keep the battery secure in the car)
Aluminium
- Wide Wheel Hub Hex - FTX6365W
- Front Lower Suspension Arms - FTX6492
- Rear Lower Suspension Arms - FTX6493
- Steering Knuckle Arms - FTX6494
- Rear Hub Carriers - FTX6495
- Battery Brackets - FTX6496
The first thing I did notice was the parts come bagged with any additional screws etc you may need to replace that part which is really good. The parts all look really nice in aluminium in their anodised blue colour and along with the carbon fibre items, they really do make a big difference to the look of the car, it looks a lot more premium than it’s standard out the box version.
After taking my time one afternoon I managed to get all the upgrades swapped over and the car looks awesome now. I’m really pleased with the look of the car now, and it is good to have it on display at the shop so we can show people how different the Banzai looks with the various upgrades fitted. I am also upgrading the standard brushed motor and esc to a hobbywing max10 3300kv combo, so that along with these carbon and aluminium upgrades will make it a really unique banzai.
The only problem now is as it looks so good I’m worried about using it and crashing!
