How to change settings on Hobbywing ESC

Many Hobbywing ESC have programmable features built into them, these all have a base setting on them from the factory so all of the EScs are ready to fit and use.

But should you want to change the programming on them  you can use one of Hobbywings program cards these can be found here

https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/s/?q=hobbywing+progra+

For this article I will be using the Hobbywing Xr10 pro  https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/343044/

And the LCD program box   https://wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/336899/

Plugging in the program box.

The program box comes with a male to male servo plug lead, one needs to be plugged in to the program card and the other into the ESC, please note you need the correct pos neg and signal wire placement .

Once plugged in you then need to power the ESC up ( plugging in a battery and turning the ESC on )  I always make sure that any drive wheels are lifted off the floor, just in case.

Once plugged in the program card will connect to the ESC, and show you the software version

At this point if you press the OK button it will take you to your first programmable item

At this point its worth noting that all of the ESC have a chart in the manual that lay out how many different items are programmable and how many values each item has.

On this ESC we start off at 1A, looking at the chart this has 3 programmable options, on the card these will be numbered 1,2,3,

So if you with to change this option you press the Value + button and this will then change the value from 1 to 2, then if pressed again it will go from 2 to 3 and then continue scrolling

1,2,3,1,2,3 etc

Once you have the setting you desire you can then press the OK button, this then saves that setting.

You can then move on to the next item by pressing the item button. You will then use the Value + button to scroll through the selectable options for that item.

Once you have been through all of the items like this you can power down the ESC and disconnect the program card.

If you do make a mistake or want to go back to Factory settings the very last item in the list on the program card is a “restore factory default” option.
