Hobbywing does a large variety of electronics for the RC industry. They are arguably the best in the business for motors and speed controllers.

I have had several of their systems in my cars over the years, and nowadays you may have noticed that there are three categories of motor that they produce for cars - QuicRun, EZRun, and XERun.

So what is the difference, and which is best?

3rd Choice - QuicRun

Coming in last is the QuicRun series - these motors are the Hobbywing budget friendly range. While they do not perform like the more expensive alternatives, they are still a superb motor that are guaranteed to run very well in any basher RC car.

QuicRun examples:

QuicRun Fusion 1800kv crawler (2 in 1 system) - the entry level brushless upgrade for many 1/10 scale crawlers at around £80.

QuicRun 3700kv 3660 size G2 motor - used alongside the QuicRun BL120 G2 ESC to make an extremely well performing system that I currently have in my buggy for 60mph+ on 11.1v.

2nd Choice - EZRun

The second choice in terms of quality would be the EZRun series motors. These are used in the ever-reliable Max10 combos that have been the most popular plug and play RTR combos on the market for some time now, and include the bigger scale motors for larger models as well as sensored G2 systems. The quality of parts is superior to the QuiRun series and the motors will run faster and cooler, as well as having superior and stronger ESC combos.

EZRun examples:

Max 10 G2 sensored combo with 4000 EZRun G3 motor - powerful and cool running sensored combo that will run 2 or 3s.

EZRun sensorless 800kv motor - used in conjunction with the Max5 ESC to provide insane power for the ⅕ scale cars like the HPI Baja Flux.

Top choice: XERun

The XERun series of motors takes all of Hobbywing’s knowledge and puts it into a small but powerful package. These series of motors are designed for racing and use the very best materials on the market to keep them running cooler, and faster, as well as putting less stress on their ESC when under hard load during racing. The KV ratings of the fastest XERun motors is way higher than anything else in the Hobbywing range.

XERun 1/10 race motor - the motor of choice for touring car or buggy racing. It is available from 10.5t down to 3.5t.

XERun AXE 2300kv sensored crawler system - the ultimate upgrade for your 1/10 scale crawler. This system will provide superior sensored control at slow speed as well as unmatched reliability and longevity.
