Hobao... A brand that has been on the RC scene since 1988, well known for its nitro powered models, hobao has always been a brand that offers great products. I have never actually owned a Hobao product but that has now changed. Many of you may know that nitro cars are a big no no for me so I decided to get on of the electric rolling chassis that are available from Hobao. The Hyper TT !

Looking at the spec this looks like a great option and I really like the fact it’s a 1/10 truggy as opposed to the usual 1/8th meaning you can use 1/10 electronics and it’s easy to store and transport.

So let's dive into this unboxing article and see what's inside, shall we!

So, the first thing to mention is that this is sold as a rolling chassis. This means that only some basic assembly is required, ideal for those that have time constraints or simply don't want to build the complete chassis.

The build quality looks great, everything is well presented and generally looks well put together. All of the hardware is metric hex drive meaning chances are you will have a hex driver set that will be suitable, but if not the kit does include a basic allen key set that includes a 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0 mm to get you started.

You do get a manual with exploded views included which is not really needed to assemble the few parts that need assembling however will be great when it comes to repairs and purchasing spare parts so keep this safe!

The chassis itself is aluminium with adjustable aluminium shocks, shock towers and roll bars. Overall it's a great looking ( although basic ) chassis.

The coilover style adjustable shocks come pre oil filled which again means less messing about to get this little gem on the gravel.

The aluminium motor plate allows various sizes 1/10 and some 1/8 motors with plenty of adjustment to get the gearing right. One thing to mention is the gearing for this model despite being a 1/10 scale truck is MOD 1 so bare that in mind when selecting a motor.

It is also worth considering where you will fit your ESC and receiver as you are a bit limited on space however I think the best places will be on the center diff top deck for the ESc and then on the servo mount plate for the receiver.

The 2.2 inch wheels are a 12mm hex fitting and will require you to glue the tyres on, I would recommend using the Core RC tire glue for this. Despite the images showing a flat disc wheel as standar you will have the double 5 spoke style wheels as pictured above.  Overall, this chassis looks great and I can't wait to get the electronics installed and take it for a bash to see what it can do.
