The UDIRC range of 1/16 RC cars are incredible little cars for the money. I have just gone with the UDIRC Rally L, for some sideways rally car fun. So what do you get in the box for your money? Well, let's find out.

Opening the box

The first thing you’ll notice when you open the box, is the car. I went for the L body which lets be honest, you don’t need much imagination or eye for detail to know that this is a look a like of the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale rally car. Great to see UDI went for this type of body. The other thing you also get on opening the box initially is the operating instructions which has all the info you need to read on how to set up your car, charge your battery, and other tips on setting your car up. There is also another sheet of paper which has an exploded diagram of the car along with the part numbers to help people identify the parts on our website should they need a replacement part.

What’s in the other compartment of the box?

In the compartment part of the box (where the car sits on top of) is where you will find your transmitter (which does require you to purchase 4 AA batteries for it to work) and a small box. The small box is where you will find your USB charger, your spare set of drift wheels and tyres, and also a couple of small tools to help you do your basic bits of work on the car, along with some spare body clips which I think is a nice little touch!

The UDIRC Rally L out the box

After cutting the cable ties securing the UDIRC Rally L in the box, I was able to remove the car from the packaging and give it a little look over. After spending a couple of minutes looking over it. It really is a cracking little piece of kit for the money. Please note the little 2 cell lipo battery that powers the car is already in the car, so don’t be worried when you are wondering where the battery is when you go through the packaging. Another thing to bear in mind is to be careful when you remove the body as the connector for the LED lights on the car is already plugged in, so by trying to lift the body right up at first, it could pull the wires out or something, so just be a little careful when you lift the body up off the body posts. All that you need to do now is remove the battery out of it’s compartment, and get it on charge with the supplied USB charger before you start to go and have some fun with it.
