FTX OUTLAW 1/10 BRUSHLESS 4WD ULTRA-4 RTR BUGGY

Yeeeha, the Outlaw Brushless has just left its rooster tail as the throttle is nailed. Well you might not have a Californian desert on your doorstep, but you can pretend! Loosely based on the powerful Ultra 4 buggies that take up the challenge of racing through the US’ west coast deserts, the Outlaw is the perfect mix of RTR entry level fun with a bit of scale realism thrown in to boot.

Under the semi-scale tubular roll cage, body panels and cockpit are some new and established features. The front suspension assembly is the same as FTX stablemates the Carnage and Bugsta trucks with fully adjustable settings, universal driveshafts, turnbuckles and a heavy-duty metal geared differential. Moving back, the moulded chassis supports the centrally positioned sealed shaft drivetrain, steering servo, motor and receiver box.

Semi-scale trailing arm rear suspension sets the Outlaw apart from other off road buggies in the FTX range. This long travel suspension, with huge articulation is what full size U4 buggies use to tackle the uneven desert surface. With drive to the rear axle assembly via a telescopic sliding driveshaft, along with multi-position shock absorber mounting points, the Outlaw can handle some of the roughest terrain with its all terrain super-soft tyres.

FTX has chosen Etronix for the brushless system with their waterproof 60Amp Photon 2.1W speed control and 2950kv 4-pole motor. Coupled with the Voltz 3250mAH LiPo battery and you will have all the power you need to unleash the Outlaw.

With established Etronix radio equipment, plus with the sweet addition of full aluminium oil filled shock absorbers and scale looking all terrain tyres the Outlaw is the perfect choice RTR for enthusiasts looking for a rig with a bit of character and a whole lot of speed!

This is a fantastic Car from FTX. it is quick, robust, and is extremely good over the rough stuff. Has a great array of optional upgrade parts too which personally i would suggest getting over the course of time as this improves the Outlaws handling and control. Would also suggest getting a Decent battery with a good discharge rate to replace or accompany the standard one that is supplied, because with a Decent battery you just bring this car alive.

Does this kit come with a battery and charger?
Asked by Bogdan Curta on 21st March 2018

Yes this includes 2S LiPo battery and charger :-)

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Hi can this be run on 3s lipo cheers
Asked by Andrew on 1st April 2018

2S is the recommended max.

In theory yes 3S will work, however 3s will burn out the motor on the kit gearing.

Also, as the car is designed for 2s, the model will start to wear extremely quickly.

I would not recommend it, although I have seen a few models on 3S at customer risk.

Hello how long does the battery usually last”
Asked by Vincent on 7th December 2018

The stock battery will last around 15-20 mins or so depending on your driving style.

A higher capacity 5000mah battery should be good for around 30 mins runtime.

Hello, i recently got one of these and whilst driving one of the wheel fell off ( i had taken them off before, must of forgotten to tighten it up properly) i lost the two nut/ washer thing, not too sure what that is called, and was just wondering if you had any stock of these. Thanks

Yes, this would be ideal

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

what would you say the differences are between the outlaw and the bugsta?
Asked by John on 11th September 2019

They're very similar in terms of specification and features - we'd advise just go for the one you prefer the body style of as you wouldn't be disappointed with either :-)

Hey Spoke to your very helpful team today about a gift for our son. An RC car for a beach. A FTX Carnage Brushless was recommended for ease of access to spare parts etc. Would the FTX Outlaw Brushless be a similar recommendation. Might prefer the body shape.
Asked by Simon Willows on 30th May 2022

Yes they are a very similar car and will perform the same.
