Show Spares and Option Parts

The iON MT shares the same spare parts list as the existing models for easy parts availability, plus the Maverick iON range has been updated with new-spec electronics! The Maverick iON kits lead the way with fantastic brand new top-spec features: a Maverick Element 1200mAh Ni-MH battery, MTX-248 2.GHz radio and a 2-in-1 waterproof MSRS-248 receiver/speed controller.

The motor fitted in the Maverick iON MT is the reliable MM-28 370-size motor, bolted to an aluminum motor mount for extra drivetrain durability and improved heat dissipation, so drivers can keep having fun for hours and hours! The 4WD drivetrain uses ball bearings throughout to give drivers maximum runtime and efficiency, and features a molded gear cover to keep dirt and debris away from the gears. Front and rear gear differentials easily transfer the motors power to durable driveshafts and finally to the grippy rubber wheels at all four corners.

The Maverick iON MT features a complete set of gold-colored shock caps for the oil-filled shock absorbers. These add an extra bit of color and style to the chassis, just to make it look that much cooler! The suspension also features dual-wishbone independent suspension front and rear, with reliable C-hub style front hubs and extra-strong single-piece rear hubs. The strong MS-28 servo controls the steering through a dual-point steering system that features and integrated servo saver to protect the servo against crash damage.

Finishing off every Maverick iON MT is and fully detailed, completely painted and stickered body with a design that not only looks amazing, it provides additional protection for the chassis components.

Please advise top speed and battery life of maverick mv12809
Asked by Alex Winter on 23rd October 2016

Top speed isn't quoted, but we'd estimate around 20mph or so - quite nippy for their size!

Battery life is around 10 minutes or so, depending on your useage.

Is it possible to restrict the speed of this item? I have a young son who will be using it and I would like to slow it down until he is used to it.
Asked by Jon Soulsby on 29th October 2017

The easiest way we've seen this done is by attaching a small lump of blue-tack behind the trigger on the transmitter and voila - instant "adjustable" speed limiter!

Is there an adapter/way that I could use to connect a Wheelspin Racing 7.2v NiMh Stick Pack - 3300mAh - Tamiya Connector to this?
Asked by Tom on 7th June 2018

No, that battery is physically way too large to fit these cars.

The best battery for these is MV28103

how long is the charging time?
Asked by Elvy on 14th January 2019

On the stock charger it's around 6 hours or so.

On a fast charger, it'll be around 50 mins.

I have and HPI ionXT and want to purchase an ionMT will the 2.4GHz frequencies conflict? Are they both the same Frequency and can the Frequency be changed? Thanks
Asked by Aaron Coey on 22nd September 2020

Those 2 should run together without any issues :-)

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Asked by Bear on 24th December 2020

The NX84 will take around an hour or so yes

The XB (slightly smaller) measures up as Length: 249mm, Width: 174mm, Wheelbase: 165mm

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

Would this be okay to run on grass!
Asked by Gregg on 28th February 2021

Short grass should be OK, but just bear in mind these are small scale so won't handle longer grass

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

How waterproof is this vehicle? What's the IPX rating?
Asked by Marco Giannangeli on 10th April 2021

IPX rating isn't given.

They are splash-proof... they'll be OK with the odd splash from a puddle etc, but I would not submerge

Answered by: Ben @ Wheelspin Models

will this run on a 2s lipo battery thanks
Asked by Adrian Powis on 11th August 2023

This does not have a lipo cut off so we would not recommend running this car on lipo batteries.
