eScale P-47 ARTF With Servos, Brushless Motor and 3S LiPo

The P-47 Thunderbolt, also known as the ‘Jug’, entered combat in 1943, was ordered and flown by the RAF, and was the largest radial engine-powered fighter in history - fully loaded it could weight up to 8 tons - even carrying a bomb-load too!

Who’s it for?
Like all ESCALE aircraft, this P-47 is easy to fly making it a great 1st scale model for intermediate pilots who’ve had experience on low wing aileron sport models.

What do you get?
Almost everything in the RTF version! Just AA batteries are needed and a small amount of 5-minute epoxy. If you buy the ‘RC Ready version’ just add transmitter and receiver too. All prepainted with the decals pre-installed and coated with a clear semi-matte polyurethane spray for ultimate durability. The powerful outrunner brushless motor (1050Kv) has plenty of power to swing the magically scale 11” 4-bladed propeller.

Power and control systems?
Yes, a 25A electronic speed controller (ESC) is pre-installed as is the supplied 3-cell 1650 mAh Lipo flight battery. Sturdy retracts with scaleappearance gear doors and rearward sweep are pre-installed and preconnected. Steerable tail wheel. Includes a complete set of illustrated instructions with all control throws and CG information detailed.

How scale?
Only ESCALE have gone to the trouble of custom-designing the correct scale 4-blade prop for a 41ins span scale model! The scale outline of the P-47 is accurately represented with exquisite panel and decal detail. The tail surfaces are accurately shaped aerofoils. The 8 staggered wing mounted machine guns are there too! Combined with the scale 4-bladed prop and retracts, you have a great flying package that looks terrific on the ground, taxing to the runway, or on fly-bys with gear up.

Flying
Pilots have described the The P-47 flight characteristics as “stupendous”, “ …has solid flying manners with a very low stall speed” and “predictable control response”. We found that the wide stance of the landing gear makes ground handling very solid and the steerable tail wheel keeps everything going in the proper direction. The big 4-bladed scale prop provides a lot of thrust; the smooth application of power is required for a scale take-off and a little power needs to carry into the landing for a smooth result. No nasty vices and a reassuringly solid all round feel from a 41ins span model!
