Will this drop straight into my MT2 without having to change anything apart from the mount?

That depends a little on what version of the MT-2 you have.
If it's an MT-2 G3.0 then yes, this should drop straight in. If it's an older MT-2 then this should drop in with the addition of the HPI-86000 engine mount.

I think it sounds like you need HPI 86000 engine mount from memory - but they are long since discontinued sorry

Yes as long as the crank is the same as the engine you have, the mounting plates are the size.
