Amazing starter box! Tried the Fastrax King FAST555 box but couldn’t get on with it for my XB8. This box has more than enough power and a smaller diameter wheel allowing it to reach the flywheel without hitting the chassis of the car. The engine doesn’t get stuck at TDC anymore, far better build quality too. Using the 12v lead acid battery.

Will this work with a kyosho inferno neo st ?
Asked by Cliff on 13th December 2019

Yes it will do. However we'd probably go for somthing a little more 'beefy' for something that size, such as the FAST555 king starter box.

Will this be suitable for a LRP 32X ?
Asked by Mark on 9th December 2020

In theory, yes - however for a big engine like that I'd look at the heavier duty FAST555 king box

What is the difference between the Tru-Start and the Power-Start?
Asked by Dylan on 21st August 2022

They are just a different design of box, the power start has some different brackets to hold the car and looks like you can change the motor round depending on if your engine is mounted inline or tranverse.

Hi Is this suitable for starting Xray 808. I tried a fast555 king starter however the wheel is too high and not suitable. Does it have a spring holding the car of the starter until you press it down can’t quite see in the picture many thanks Richard
Asked by Richard on 25th August 2022

We have not started one of those on the starter but yes when you push down it engages the power and the base lowers.

Hi there, Interested in converting my nitro buggy from a pullstart to a starter box. Just wondering if a 12 V sealed lead acid battery would fit in one of these?
Asked by Carlos on 1st June 2023

Yes it will but we would recommend this one FAST555

it is acutually more powerful and the only one that is really good for 1/8 buggies.

What LiPo battery would you guys recommend for this, 3s or 4s?
Asked by Rick on 1st June 2023

That will work with 7.2v nimh batteries or a 12v gel cell battery it will not work with lipo batteries.

Answered by: Steve @ Wheelspin Models

What type of battery connectors come with this?
Asked by Carlos on 1st June 2023

This can run on 2x tamiya connector 7.2v Nimh or a 12v gel cel battery

Hi i was looking to use this starter box for my kyosho inferno mp9 tki4, would the starter wheel fit into the chassis port without any issues or modification, because with the FAST 555 starter box the wheel is too big. Thanks
Asked by Mark on 2nd June 2023

We cannot guarantee it will fit without filing the holes the only one that will 100% work is this K.36209

What stick pack batteries and charger would you recommend/or would I need to go with a fastrax tru-start buggy/truggy box? Looking for a complete solution to start my 1/8 kyosho inferno
Asked by Marc on 3rd June 2023

You have 2 options for this, the better 1 is a 12v gel battery

FT12V7  and charger PX2129AZ

Or you can look at 2x 7.2v nimh batteries

  VZ0025  and a charger for them ET0208
