Just as Formula 1 is seen as the pinnacle of full-size car racing, FG's range of F1 racers must be seen as the ultimate of the FG Modellsport range. Closely modelled on the real machines, blink and you could almost believe they're full-size! No less than three versions of FG's terrific Formula 1 chassis are available. The first, with a Sportsline chassis, features a pre-built, high strength, countersunk 5mm alloy chassis with a double delta wishbone suspension configuration (with additional track rods at the rear) that allows quick and almost limitless set-up options to fine-tune the car's handling to match track conditions. A combination of left and right hand threaded rods mean that nothing needs to be dismantled to get the chassis handling exactly how you want it. Four high quality adjustable alloy oil filled shock absorbers ensure that the pushrod suspension is accurately controlled.
All rotating parts are ballraced for minimum friction and maximum life. The transmission features a synchronous belt drive for power transfer. The chassis is supplied with an easy to operate and powerful 26cc petrol engine with pullstart and 4-shoe Teflon clutch, running through the include tuned pipe system. A streamlined air filter is also included. Front and rear spoilers are included but the body shell and decals must be purchased separately.
The higher specification Competition Chassis is available in two kit versions – one with mechanical brakes and the other with a hydraulic brake system for the ultimate stopping power. Both competition chassis are based on an 8mm carbon and CNC-cut alloy countersunk chassis. With the front and rear suspension mounts linked with the engine, FG have managed to almost achieve the strength and stiffness of a monocoque chassis with these cars! Fully adjustable king pin and trailing angles mean the suspension can be quickly altered to suit every track condition. Four high quality oil filled adjustable alloy shock absorbers complete the suspension's double delta wishbone and track rod layout.
Synchronous belt drive, an adjustable alloy differential, front and rear alloy uprights, alloy steering links, ball-type drive shafts with protective bellows, front and rear stabilisers, tuned pipe, streamlined air filter and ballraces throughout make up just some of the other race-winning features! Add to this a powerful (included) Zenoah 26cc pullstart petrol engine and you have all the power you could possibly want. A carbon fibre rear spoiler and impact resistant front spoiler are included but the body shell and decals must be purchased separately.
Suitable radio is required to complete all three models. Futaba's 3GR system with S3305 and S3306 servos with suitable batteries are recommended.
