The Jenny Lee is about 50% fact, 50% fiction, but certainly 100% fun. Loosely based on harbour tugs that operated in the Southern United States from the early 1900s to the 1940s, she's been designed to give an introductory experience to plank on frame construction. As such the model features a balsa planked hull over laser cut poplar plywood bulkheads and a pilot house built from expanded PVC.
Detail elements include cast metal fittings, wood turnings, vacuum forms, colour decals and laser cut detail parts. Meanwhile the kit documentation includes a full-size plan, a 47 page instruction manual, and a packet containing 79 figure detail drawings. So, even first time modellers will feel at ease when putting the model together.
