The new racing Micro Magic represents the modified version of the original model, designed for the ambitious regatta skipper. It has been developed to reflect the progress in the Micro Magic regatta scene. There has been a slight rework of the shape of the bow and stern to modernise the boats appearance, however, the basic lines of the original hull have been left to stay within class rules.
The new Micro Magic V2 is now complete with the fittings kit, and contains many pre-fabricated components, allowing for a quick completion time. The internal wooden parts are laser cut to match the internal shape and size of the hull and ABS parts are supplied CNC-machined to size.
The booms and mast supplied are strong, lightweight CFRP tubes with no drilling needed for fittings. The rudder, main boom pivot and keel fin amongst others, are injection moulded glass fibre reinforced plastic. Available separately are a host of new upgraded parts, each having their own unique technical function, allowing improvements of your choice or your existing Micro Magic.
A new feature which is exclusive to this style of kit model is the variable position keel (fore and aft direction). This enables the operator to adjust the model very quickly to suit various sailing conditions. The Micro Magic features a carbon fibre rig with a 5mm diameter mast, high quality plastic fittings and new and improved sails. The revised keel fin and rudder are thinner, allowing reduced water resistance. The longer and slightly heavier ballast bulb will also enhance directional stability.
To reduce friction, the sail adjustment system has been designed with a double control arm and return pulleys, enabling a lighter servo to be employed safely. An additional micro servo can also be fitted to allow jib sheet trim control from the transmitter, allowing the sail trim to be fine-tuned when the boat is in the water.
