The Harmon Rocket is basically a heavily modified RV-4. But modified hardly does it justice. The real Rocket is a homebuilt aircraft designed to look and go fast!!

Black Horse have created thier version to be as close to the original as possible but with minor changes to make her more practical as a model. The design (like all Black Horse models) was created on CAD and then directly transferred to a computer cutting program so that every component is accurately laser cut from balsa or ply. The unique factory jigging procedure ensures that each and every one is straight and true. At the end of asssmbly, the Rocket is skillfully covered in Oracover in a scheme that is visually appealing and true to the concept. What looks fast usually is!!!

The Black Horse Harmon Rocket needs a 15-20cc 2-stroke engine (petrol or glow) but could also accomodate a 25-30cc 4-stroke as well. The choice depends on your performance preference.

Flying wise, she has no real vices.

GRP and vacuum mouldings are used where wood is impractical so that shapes remain good, looks are maintained and weight is minimised.
