The Carisma M48S Subaru Impreza WRC is a new ⅛ scale RC rally car, which is another addition to the ever-growing ⅛ scale rally car range.

It certainly has some serious competition in the HPI WR8 and the CEN 2023 M-Sport Ford Puma Rally, so it has to be something special to be up with those cars.

Before we take the car out for a spin and see what it’s like, let's get unboxing the Carisma 48S Subaru Impreza WRC.

You can buy the Carisma 48S Subaru Impreza WRC in an electric brushless version only which is available on our website at the current price of £299.00 which is a good bit cheaper than the likes of the HPI WR8 and the CEN Puma.

The first thing you notice when you open the box is how well-packaged the items are. You get the Carisma M48S Impreza WRC in one sealed bubble bag, the transmitter in the other, and also your manual which also includes some additional stickers should you wish to use them.

To the left, you can see the nice little touches to detail with the packaging of the car. Something pretty cheap to cost, yet effective at reducing the chances of damage to the car. Nice job Carisma!

The car comes fully built and includes all the electrics and radio gear. All you require to get yourself running is a 2S lipo battery with a Dean's connector on it, and a Lipo battery charger too. You will also require some AA batteries for the transmitter.

Under the skin of the car is the 2S capable electronics, something which is causing me a little concern as to why it isn’t 3S capable but I will hold judgement until I get the car out and take it for a spin. The long wheelbase chassis (measures 325mm) is nice too with some chunky aluminium for the main chassis, although I would have liked to have seen some sort of plastics up at the side to try and eliminate debris etc coming in the car, something which the CEN Puma has done. It is 4-wheel drive and the car is controlled by a Full Function, 2.4Ghz F.H.S.S CTX-8000 Steer-wheel Radio System.

The car itself looks nice to be fair. It’s the classic Subaru Impreza WRC which features the livery of the late great Colin McRae, and Nicky Grist on the 1997 Monte Carlo Rally. If I was nitpicky there are several inaccuracies with the livery (different fonts used, and different colours used on logos etc) and I would loved to have seen Carisma do the 6 spoke speedline wheels that the car ran on the event as that is so iconic. The one thing I did find was that a number of the stickers weren’t put on properly and were showing air bubbles. I had to remove the sticker slightly and put the sticker on.

It will be interesting to see how this car runs when I take it out. I have seen some youtube reviewers' opinions which do match my cause for concern with the car only being able to run 2S lipo, however I will get the car out shortly and you will shortly see a review of this Carisma M48S Subaru Impreza WRC on our knowledge base in the future.
